Our solar products employ an overlapping set of patent-pending innovations in optics, mechanics, and array geometry to create the first practical concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) panel.
Our ArcSolTM technology embeds arrays of autonomous heliotropic elements using the worlds most advanced solar cells to provide breakthrough efficiency in a rooftop PV panel. ArcSol's fully modular architecture:
- Miniaturizes tracking optics to fit in an enclosure just a few inches thicker than a conventional PV panel.
- Virtually eliminates light capture gaps that cost existing CPV systems at least 25 percent in lost efficiency.
- Removes range-of-motion restrictions and failure modes characteristic of existing CPV systems.
- Enables efficient highly-optimizable manufacture using mostly inexpensive materials, and very high volume production of a single hand-sized assembly of just six simple parts and electronics.
- Provides robust fault- and shade-tolerant operation through fully distributed control and power electronics using our NanoConverterTM architecture.
